The
Southwest Florida Personal Computer Users Group is a non profit, Florida Corporation
dedicated to computer literacy. With over 1000
members in
Lee County, we are the most significant
source of computer information in Southwest Florida. Many members
reside outside of Lee County.
Our
User Group meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month in
the auditorium of Lee Memorial Hospital on Cleveland Avenue
in Fort Myers, Florida. Other meetings and
seminars are
held at
various times and places throughout Lee County.
For
those who have never attended one of our User Group meetings,
we encourage you to do so regardless of your computer experience.
First time visitors and former members who left in good standing are
welcome as guests. There's no cost, obligation or registration
requirement to attend a meeting and decide for yourself whether or not our
organization can be of service.
Our mission is to provide the
novice User with an unimpeachable source of information and assistance.
To accomplish this, our User
Group meetings offer both a multimedia presentation of a
computing activity of specific interest to the novice — and an extensive
Question and Answer session hosted by our consulting technicians and
knowledgeable members.
In fact, our Question and Answer
sessions have become our hallmark. Because every question and
concern receives an enthusiastic response in layman language, novices
quickly realize they can ask any question regardless of how basic it may
be without fear of being embarrassed or intimidated.
As a service to the community, we
offer to all, whether or not they are members of Southwest Florida PC
Users Group, a free e-mail Bulletin Board to post their computer problems
and receive an expeditious solution from experienced Users or professional
technicians and the phone numbers and e-mail addresses of our consulting
technicians who offer many pro bono services.
